Friends of Meals on Wheels is now up and running and presents an opportunity for all of us to join forces and identify ways in which we can all play a part.
Just as clients of Meals on Wheels represent a true cross-section of society, so do the people we call Friends. Whether a family who volunteers for deliveries or a chef who keeps our clients happy by preparing healthy meals, each and every one has a role that improves other people’s lives.
So what is a typical Friend? There really is no profile that encompasses the myriad types of people who make up Friends. If we had to identify common traits, the following would apply:
- They gain satisfaction in helping others
- Use their skills, resources and time to make a difference
- Enjoy a sense of community through a shared vision
