Support at Home Transitions Made Easy
Support at Home, the choice of meal providers is always yours.
Already receiving Meals on Wheels as part of the Commonwealth Home Support Programme?
Transitioning to a Support at Home is simple! You are able to take your Meals on Wheels over to your Support at Home package with you, this is your choice to make. Please speak to your Support at Home package provider about continuing your Meals on Wheels service, or if you need support with this, your local Meals on Wheels is here to help!

New to Support at Home? If you haven’t received meals previously and wish to commence with Meals on Wheels meals as part of your Support at Home package, simply confirm this with your Support at Home provider. This is you choice to make.

Free Meals - Fact or Fiction? Your Support at Home package provider may suggest they can supply meals for free or at a significantly reduced price, if you choose meals from their existing suppliers. It's important to understand that all meals come at a cost, and may be disguised as free or significantly reduced. The full cost is being deducted from your Support at Home package budget. Under Consumer Directed Care your Support at Home package provider cannot force you to use their preferred supplier. This is your choice to make.

What do I do if the Support at Home package provider claims I can’t use Meals on Wheels? Your Support at Home package entitles you to choose a meal service that best suits you under the principle of Consumer Directed Care. Your Support at Home package provider should agree to provide Meals on Wheels as part of your Support at Home package, as Meals on Wheels are available in every Local Government Area across the State.

No funds left in your Support at Home package? You can apply to My Aged Care to access the Commonwealth Home Support Programme to supply meals. Contact your local Meals on Wheels or My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.

You can speak with The Seniors Rights Service ph. 1800 474 079 or NSW Fair Trading if you feel that your right to choose is being denied.
