Volunteering

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Volunteering at Blacktown Meals on Wheels offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of older Australians. Our organisation provides essential services by delivering meals, hosting social restaurants, and organising social outings. Our management committee is made up of volunteers and receives government funding for the running of the organisation at the local level and is responsible for its governance.

We value our volunteers and provide training sessions throughout the year, relevant to our organisation. The contribution of our volunteers is recognised in National Volunteer Week  and at other events throughout the year, such as our annual Volunteer's Day. It is not only our clients whose lives are enhanced by Meals on Wheels; as a volunteer, you enrich your own life, form social connections, and gain a sense of satisfaction from helping others in your community.

All volunteers must undergo a Police Check and fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Our volunteers receiving free training so they can approach their roles with confidence.
