Other Food Services
- Cooking For 1 or 2 programme.
- Social and inclusive cooking groups hosted in Holbrook and Culcairn.
- Help to prepare shopping lists and meals within your own home.
Social Support
Social Support is assistance provided by a companion, who may be a paid worker or a volunteer, either within the home or in the community to assist participation in everyday and community life.
Assistance can include:
- Help with day to day tasks such as shopping, meal preparation,
- Assistance with minor domestic tasks
- Friendly visiting and friendly telephone calls
- Assistance to attend outings and day trips
- Attending appointment’s
- Group Activites
- Banking and paying bills and
- Letter writing.
Transport
Transport services are provided under the CHSP programme to assist frail, older people to remain actively connected and engaged with the community. Transport aims to assist people to continue their usual activities such as,
- Attending community activities and groups
- Attending Medical Appointments
- Going shopping
- Visiting friends
Carers may accompany people using transport services when required.
Domestic Assistance
Domestic Assistance services are aimed at improving the persons capacity for self management and support client participation where appropriate.
Domestic Assistance can support you through:
- Helping with tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and toilets, mopping, washing dishes and emptying bins.
- Assisting with laundering, ironing and folding of items/garments
- Other cleaning services as requested.
- Doing your shopping and errands for you.
Personal Care
Personal Care provides assistance with activities of daily living self-care tasks.
The service will assist the client to maintain appropriate standards of hygiene and grooming including:
- Assistance with self-care
- Assistance with client self-administration of medication
And include support with
- Showering,
- Dressing,
- Grooming
- Eating
- Medication assistance
Other Services
If you are a consumer of a Home Care Package and have funds available, you can choose to include MEALS, SOCIAL SUPPORT & TRANSPORT as part of your package. You may be eligible to receive subsidised meals.
Your Home Care Package entitles YOU TO CHOOSE a Meal Provider that can meet your individual needs.
You have every right to discuss this with your Package provider and they are obliged to ensure that your choice can be catered for, if this fits into your budget.
