Who is able to receive meals?


Our tasty and nutritious meals are available to everyone at full cost, whether you're a single person, a busy couple, a new parent, or a family. Our meals are also a popular choice for those working away from home who want to maintain a healthy diet. We believe that no one should have to sacrifice good nutrition for a busy lifestyle, and we're here to help. 


Am I eligible for subsidised meals?

Residents of the Bathurst and Oberon Local Government areas are eligible for subsidised meals if they meet the following criteria (referrals are required):
  • 65 years or older (50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people) and who need assistance with some daily living tasks, including meal preparation.
  • living with a disability and have an NDIS package which includes meal preparation and delivery.


How do I register?

If you are 65 years or over (or 50 years or over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders), we require a referral from the government organisation, My Aged Care. To be referred to Bathurst Meals on Wheels, please call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit the My Aged Care website by clicking here. Call us at the Bathurst office on 02 6331 8231 to make an appointment and we will go through the process together. In some cases, we can commence our service to you immediately.

What Services are available?

Our service aims to provide our clients with a range of healthy and tasty meal options to suit their preferences and needs.

We offer fresh or frozen meals, delivered to your home from Monday to Friday. Our volunteers will happily assist you in heating your meal, should you require assistance. Our service is flexible to meet your needs, with no lock in contracts, you are free to order as much or as little as you like.

You may choose from a wide variety of mini meals, main meals, pureed meals, soups and desserts.

Our extensive menu is designed to assist you to make an informed decision about your meal choice.  We provide approximately 70 menu items. Of these over 35 are gluten free and over 40 are low salt. Each item on the menu also discloses vital information regarding common allergens.
