The amazing family history of Meals on Wheels client Una

Una, a 91-year-old client of Cowra/Grenfell Meals on Wheels, has a remarkable family history. After her grandfather and his wife got married in Sydney, they walked over 300km to Central NSW, pushing their belongings in a wheelbarrow. They eventually settled in Cowra, where Una has lived her whole life.

This spirit of independence seems to run in the family, as Una continues to live at home, with a little help from Meals on Wheels.

With her eyesight deteriorating, Una finds it challenging to see the stove to cook. Meals on Wheels has been a lifesaver, providing her with nutritious meals that she can enjoy without the worry of cooking. She especially appreciates the variety of meals offered, which keeps her diet interesting and balanced.

Meals on Wheels has made a significant difference in Una's life, allowing her to maintain her independence and enjoy her meals safely. Her story highlights the importance of the service in providing both practical support and companionship to those in need.
